Re: Negative dB Rules

I bet I turned over a rock. Did you know that the bouncing bar sound meters only measure the positive parts of the sound? I found this out when I created my LRMonoPhase test sound track. I turned over one half of the stereo track and the meters were different. They can't be different if they're meas...

Re: Echo - Get rid of it

Are you recording "Mix Out" instead of one of the standard inputs like Line-In? That will give you a one-computer-late echo. The Windows setups for recording internet audio are openly hostile to recording a live musical performance.

Re: recording truncating

Audacity will not save a sound file. Do not move or damage any of those project fragments.

Open the show in Audacity and Export WAV or MP3 to get a real sound file of the whole show.

Re: downloading and installing audacity beta

You won't see the .exe on the end of the file name. Widows likes to hide that to "help you." If you right click on the file > Properties, Windows should tell you the file is a windows installer or executable or something like that. I think it's still possible to force Windows, even WIn7, t...

Re: downloading and installing audacity beta

I thought we were leaning toward a .ZIP file rather than the .EXE installer, but OK.

That doesn't exist. We need a web site URL or a model number.

Re: Blue Yeti USB Mic Issue

This could fit into the "Recording Equipment" forum too, no?
And probably should have, which only points out the scattered nature of the forum segments.

Negative dB Rules

I can't find this in the Feature Requests (doesn't mean it's not there).

Waveform dB needs dB markings down as well as up.

Re: Analysis of the amplitude of a signal, finding the R.M.S

And just to warn about interpreting the different methods of measuring waves, RMS is the area under a wave or the energy value and a you have to have a wave to have a value. There is no RMS value of one single peak no matter how you measure it.

Re: Blue Yeti USB Mic Issue

I'd go for it anyway. The first couple of gigs will teach you a lot about stage performing, and if you survive, you my have enough dollars to get a real stage microphone -- although you'll need a way to adapt that to your amplifier, depending on which amplifier you have. Behringer makes a number of ...
