A G5 fan system will slowly go up to emergency cooling speed mode when you run this test because the machine is running with no cabinet management. Try to go through two passes of the test.

Re: Audacity 1.3.12 Crashing while recording on G5 powerpc
This could be a normal equipment or software failure, but... I can give you a reading from the video editing forums. It's considered bad form to upgrade a PowerPC machine past Tiger OS-X 10.4. It doesn't fail outright and turn into a steaming pile of poo, but over months of postings and complaints, ...

Re: NEED ADVICE QUICK! couldn't find it...can you???
Each time we ask you another question, you turn up more and more damage in your show. I seriously doubt we're going to give you a click that will magically restore everything to normal. You should consider a reshoot of the work if you haven't started this already. Next time, forget saving an Audacit...

Re: no sound from speakphones
Many USB turntables also have a stereo Line-Out -- usually two RCA connectors, one red, one white. Those can be connected to your entertainment sound system in the connectors for Tuner, Tape or Line-In. You can also get Windows to do it by setting Windows Control Panels so the USB device is selected...

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp This should create a bootable CD or floppy and start checking memory. I've had multiple memory failures over time and they never show up on the first test pass. Leave running overnight. If you're not on a windows machine, borrow time on your mom's machine just...

Re: Audacity Production, but not on this machine..
As always, I would suggest posting to the Forum for the operating system you are intending to use, not in a "General" forum. I don't know that the two computers are the same. I don't know what you mean by a "complex" noise profile Select a portion of the show appropriate to the ...

Re: Making Timidity run
You know MIDI is not a sound format, right? It's a musical instrument control format. You send MIDI commands to a keyboard on one wire and get sound back on another. You can get three different sounds back from one command and three different keyboards. The two systems neither know nor care about ea...

Re: where to put new .ny files?!? Where are the plug-ins on
What you were supposed to do when you installed Audacity is create an Audacity folder (say, on your desktop) and drag all the files and folders you got when you exploded the installer into that folder. Then drag that new folder into /Applications. That would give you a "plug-ins" folder in...

That's how I record everything given differences in equipment here and there.

Radio Shack part number?I'm not sure if it's the adapter I got from Radio Shack, or the input itself, or what.
