Re: Add a built in real time clock

Someone else looking for a surveillance system? What's an EVP?
How long are your recordings?

Re: 22 secondes missing?

Try importing this sound clip into Camtasia. It's just under 6-1/2 seconds long.

Re: 22 secondes missing?

It would be good to know exactly what's missing. Did it start late? Is it playing at the wrong speed? Does it stop too soon?

What were the standards you used to record? Not everybody supports 32-bit floating. Camtasia is a cousin to video services and they use 48000 sample rate, not 44100.

Re: Another failed vocal removal

I'm pretty sure that the vocals in the track I'm trying to make an instrumental out of are panned in the center. There's a list of things that have to happen before Vocal Removal works and it fails more times than it succeeds. The show has to not be a highly compressed download -- no MP3s. The voca...

Re: Force EQ

I wonder what that's going to sound like. The original problem is caused by an electrical equalizer and it's going to have different phase and group delays that the digital one isn't. Yes, I know this is going to be one of those 'some people hear it and some don't' problems, and the comparison tools...

Re: Weird Sound Output

What happens if you try to open, not import, LRMono, piano2 or organfinale wav files from here:

They're all very short.

Installing Lame ... again

I got to bring up a fresh new Windows XP machine at work. No "baggage" from other applications and tons of drive space -- I think it was 1/2TB. Audacity install went well and I got the FFMpeg to work. But not Lame. I knew from other postings that I needed to pull down the ZIP file and use ...

Re: Real time recording

Yes, there are machines that do this to an insane accuracy -- all locked to a master, temperature-controlled clock system in a room, but they're not $1100 USD. I think I pointed out earlier that Audacity is not a good surveillance system (10 hour recordings). Maybe you should Google one of those. Th...

Re: Real time recording

It's not just the time syncing that's the problem. The sound card needs to generate multiple different signals depending on what you want it to do. It's far easier and cheaper to do it with a highly custom (cheap) local clock crystal than to try and deal with goodness knows how many different time s...

Re: Cannot Record In Audacity Using Laptop

Some Windows laptops have no provisions to record "Stereo Mix" or the other variations.
