Re: Force EQ

There's the rule of recording it right the first time because you can't actually fix this stuff in post production. You can glue patches on it, wire some of the bits back on and wrap rags around some of the more gaping wounds, but you can't ever get back to zero. I am without question in the record ...

Re: Custom "snap to" times possible?

Are you in the wrong Audacity? My Audacity 1.3.12 has the ability, via drop-down menus to the right of the times to select formats that get down to .001 seconds.

Re: I can't import from itunes

If you bought copy protected music from the iTunes store, the only way out is create a playlist and burn the playlist to a Music CD. Then rip the CD. That will also limit you to 78 minutes per CD. You can also use SoundFlower, but that's a real time transfer. If you have four hours of music, it will...

Are they copy protected files? Windows Media supports copy protection as does iTunes.

Re: Help With Science Fair Project

Oh and you need to do all this in Audacity 1.3.12. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, updated or patched.

Re: Help With Science Fair Project

Is it too late to change your project? I doubt even with all the Audacity tools, you'd be able to tell the difference between strings -- assuming groups. You wouldn't be able to tell between different steel strings or between different gut strings, but you can tell the difference between steel and g...

Re: Compressing MP3 files

Yahoo mail's upper limit is 25MB for total attachments. So that's one parishioner. You're the poster child for a simple web site and one posting to multiple people -- or a free dropbox account. http://www.dropbox.com/ You're encoding in MP3 with the lame software right? You didn't say. Audacity 1.3 ...

Re: Add a built in real time clock

You can buy SMPTE timecode generator/readers. These machines maintain very good time of day accuracy and produce, if you get the right one, an audio signal which can be recorded on one channel of Audacity with the surveillance work on the other. Play the show into the Time Code reader and it will te...
