Re: Creating Instrumentals

One more. The output file is mono. It's not stereo any more. It may have two channels in the modern version, but they're the same show.

Re: Creating Instrumentals

There is an instruction page for this. Audacity has a vocal removal tool, you don't have to go through all that reversing/splitting business. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Vocal_Removal However. There are some strict rules for Vocal Removal and most songs fail. You can't use many heavily compres...

Re: Track Numbers After Finishing A Recording Of A Tape

The CD advertising will say 80 minutes, but few people get more than around 78. One poster complained bitterly that he produced an 80 minute show exactly and the Music CD authoring program couldn't deal with it.

After you fully outfit Audacity 1.3.12, the mystery file should open and edit OK. You can put both Audac...

Re: nasty latency on pretty much everything but XP

Neither one. Steve generated a way to quickly find the value manually, but I can't find it. In general, you generate a click track (in Audacity 1.3.12). Play the track in overdub mode and record that instead of your live performance. Stop. Play both and zoom into one click. The time difference betwe...

Re: nasty latency on pretty much everything but XP

Everybody throws the word "latency" around for every delay and it's a little hard to figure out what's wrong. Are you talking about the delay when you listen to yourself in real time as you play? Classic latency is you play along to something you recorded last week. You don't listen to you...

We should know what your machine and OS is. I'm typing on an Intel Mini under OS-X 10.4.11.
