Re: AIFF Exports Won't Play On iPod
After loading AIFF into iTunes, then onto iPod, the tunes will, the majority of the time, but not always, not play, but skip to next track. Can you make a two-second long AIFF file that fails and post it here? We can't handle long form files on the forum, but I would kill to get a crack at one of t...

Re: AIFF Exports Won't Play On iPod
trained ear could tell the difference between the WAV/AIFF 16 bit versions and the 32 bit aup files. It makes us nervous when you keep saying that. AUPs are not music files. They're Audacity Project Managers. They're text files. You can open them up in TextEdit and read them. http://kozco.com/tech/...

Re: Can only select in second intervals?
At the bottom of your work window, do you have "Snap To" selected? Deselect it. You may need to restart Audacity.

Well, yes, that makes a lot more sense. There is no vocal separation, only filtering and fitting. The original YouTube has been pulled due to Violations of Terms of Service.

Re: Mono XLR Mic - 2Ch. Output?
Many computers let you change your microphone into "stereo" (two channels) in the sound setup panels. I'm using an XLR-1/8" Mono cable which is plugged into my Line-In on my soundcard. Probably not. You're probably plugged into the Mic-In of your sound card (pink). Line-In (blue) will...

Re: Upgrade to newer version……….. “overwrite” previous versi
If by "new' and "old" you mean Audacity 1.2 and Audacity 1.3, neither. Both versions will install at the same time and Audacity 1.3 will run with the assumptions and preferences of 1.2. You can't run both versions at once and Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2. If you have a d...

Re: Odd phasing-like quality when I import Audacity mp3 file
Way too many people associate "audio" with MP3. MP3 is a delivery format intended to make iPods hold as much music as possible with only a brief nod to music quality. Use MP3 for production only under duress when there is no other way possible, and then be prepared for serious problems. Au...

Re: Equalizer Help
You should view the blue waveforms and make sure none of them ever goes all the way up (or down) to zero. That creates clipping distortion which is permanent and fatal. You can use the bouncing lights in the sound meters to tell you errors as well. They should never go all the way up in to the red f...

Re: Equalizer Help
Those equalizer settings are for phonograph records. They won't do you a bit of good. Can we assume you're trying to fix your voice by itself, and not in the music mix? If you're stuck with the mix, you're dead. Also, you start with the vocal and add the music, not the other way around. Making vocal...

Re: Peak amplication / EQ distortion question
iTunes doesn't "Normalize." It tries to overall compensate for loudness variations -- on Playback.
The adjustment is in the Playback panel and says:
[X] Sound Check.
Automatically adjusts song playback volume to the same level.
