Re: Warbling sounds after using Noise Reduction
Did you keep the original WAV files from the performance? If you didn't, do that next time, even if you never use them again, against something like this happening. Once you get noise reduction damage and you export the show that way, that's the end of the story -- and the show. If you use Audacity ...

Re: Logitech USB Head set w/ mic -- "error while opening..."
Let's whittle down a few variables. Open Audacity fresh > Preferences > Quality > 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Close the panel and restart Audacity. Stereo is under Devices. Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Output. Select your headphone or USB chipset number. My Logitech device gives me a c...

Re: Old CDs with bad DC offset
You can't hear DC offset. One of the early complaints I had about Audacity was it would cheerfully edit and manage battery voltage as if it were sound...and it's not. That's not to say DC voltage in the show can't cause other problems. If it's bad enough, it can cause speaker amplifiers and speakers...

Re: sox WARN wav: Premature EOF on .wav
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for. This seems to be a perfectly correct sound file. It's a mono show carried on left and right. It's 44100, 32-floating, Stereo. Just for grins, you might try resetting Audacity to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and make a new recording. You may have found an ap...

Re: Aerobics CD
Sorry, I'm just paying attention. You should stop using Audacity 1.2. It's very old and can have serious problems with Macs. Download and install Audacity 1.3.12 from here. http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can safely install both, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open ...

Re: Aerobics CD
I am able to import each track from the CD into Audacity... How? Music on a CD is in a special space-saving format and you can't just drag and drop. I suppose the only good way to insure the continuity of the performance is real time capture with SoundFlower. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/User:...

...with the assurance that the music I have had on these cassettes have been saved for many years to come. Until the CDs wear out. I don't want to suggest mechanical abuse, although that happens, too. I mean Recordable CDs use technology similar to color photography. Don't leave one on the back she...

Re: Aerobics CD
When you make the Music CD in iTunes, there is an intermediate panel which asks you (among other things) how many seconds to leave between songs. The Red Book Music CD standard is 2 seconds, but you can force it to be zero. One of the important problems the early iPods had was the inability to play ...

Re: recording only captures left channel; no stereo
It's not obvious you're plugging into the Stereo Line-In of your Mac. That's the connection with the circle and two black arrows.

Re: recording only captures left channel; no stereo
If everything is set correctly, and it appears that it is, you may have a dead cable. I assume you have a dual-RCA to 1/8" stereo plug similar to this... http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3909621 Plug it into the computer and set Audacity to record. Touch first one RCA and t...
