Re: echo

I's always scary when someone's first reaction to a problem is to head straight for the Registry Editor. Do you like to record internet audio (YouTube, etc). You need to turn that off when you make a "straight" recording or the computer will record the show twice, once direct and once agai...

Re: Can I record and have it stop when there is silence?

Audacity can make an interesting surveillance system. Particularly on a Windows machine, you have to keep plain Windows running 100% of the time which is remarkably difficult. We put a WinXP machine on-line running one application 24/7 and it's taken two of us a good long time to turn off all the Wi...

Re: Cannot drag *.avi video (with MP3 audi track) on v1.3.12

Do you have FFMpeg installed and does your machine recognize it? In the case of Audacity 1.3, you have to get the specific FFMpeg from the same web site that was designed for it. You can't use the old FFMpeg software.

Re: Odd "Track" behavior

I remember going through this with the Effects tools. Since there is only one track, what else could I possibly want?

Odd "Track" behavior

MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz, Intel Core2 Duo Leopard OS-X 10.5.8 Audacity 1.3.12 I needed to make a sound recording in a manner that I don't usually. I found two wacky behavior problems. This is the easy one. Set the standard for 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Restart. Monitor the Line-In input level by clicking i...

When you get to Audacity 1.3, truck through Bill's writeup on SoundFlower.

Re: can't monitor with soundflower

What could be wrong here? Start with you're using Audacity 1.2. The minute you start having trouble with Audacity 1.2, we push you off to Audacity 1.3. Koz Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and...

Re: Inverse eq based on frequency analysis

So for a spectrum level of "X", the EQ will need to be ((X + 30) * -1) The Mac version of that is to do the analysis with graceful curves like you have, Copy > Analysis, Open the Equalizer and Paste. Effect > Equalization will then assume a curve that most nearly "corrects" the ...

Re: How Can I Remove Loud Ventilation Fan Noise

I sent the zipped snippet to you as per your message. Actually, you didn't. You sent a Windows WinRAR file that I can't open. I could probably do it if I fired up one of the Windows® machines, but I'm out of Anthracite and the Coal Lady won't be around until Monday. Need an actual ZIP, or send the ...

Many people make wind screens like that. Read the reviews. The furry ones tend to work really well. Also, nobody does live movie capture without the 100Hz roll-off filter in place. Most of the wind rumble and thump is below 100Hz and nobody's voice is that low. http://www.fullcompass.com/product/305...
