Re: MP3 file too big to send
That may not solve your upload problem. There is nothing natural about Win7 refusing to upload a large file. It will normally just take a very long time. You may have other problems beyond MP3 Export specifications. Do you have an Information Technology (Geek) on standby? Win7 has achieved a relativ...

Re: MP3 file too big to send
MP3 file size changes depending on settings in the Audacity Export panel. The default compression setting, 128, usually results in a very good stereo show with modest filesizes and very little sound damage. If you deviate from that, you can achieve very much smaller files. For example, if you are in...

Re: Sudden quit when playing track - every single time
Each track has to author a management process in the computer -- each has its own tools, filters, etc, all at the same time. One very long show can take management as it comes during playback of the timeline.
You can still bring Audacity to its knees during one long show, but it's harder.

Re: Noise Reduction Trick -- UNDO
I'm remembering from the dark recesses of my head that Cool Edit had controls on the Profile Capture step. I need to look.

Re: Noise Reduction Trick -- UNDO
Yes. Like the slider is labeled Normal to Auto/Max. Does the tool call Effect > Amplify, or call the code? You say the Developers found a reason to include negative numbers. It always rings bells when Developers/Engineers do that. That means one Developer on a particularly difficult Saturday Night f...

Re: no "preferences" option
is why I don't like Mac. If they upset you, you should stop using them right away. Macs aren't for everybody. They're notoriously unstable and difficult to use. Preferences is under "Audacity" because that's where it is in every other Mac program. Firefox, Photoshop, iTunes, etc. It's und...

Re: 8 track audio interface
We did reviews of multi-track devices. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=38626 Audacity will handle 16 individual tracks and I think the limit is higher in Audacity 1.3.12. You may not get all the metering you'd like and there is no export. Another possibility is creating a new ...
