Re: When recording using Windows WASAPI, voice sloooooows down
I may have a piece of this. If your sound file or clip plays slowly, that usually means it was recorded fast, or the digital sample rate was higher than the system was expecting. Recording computer sound playback sends the work through several unusual steps and an error in any of them can cause prob...

Re: Accuracy of the Change Speed Effect
The sound card will only have issues if you have to go into and out of the computer. Pick or make a short demo of voices and music. Send a copy through the process and cut that against a clean version. See if you can tell the difference—of if there is a difference, if it bothers you. Make sure you a...

Re: Accuracy of the Change Speed Effect
That won't work with conventional sampling because high pitch sounds will slide out of range. It might work with a higher sampling rate such as 96000 instead of 44100. The sampling rate needs to be at least twice the highest sound frequency. So figure out what the highest pitch sound is going to be ...

Re: Audacity not recognizing USB mixer
I know the mixer is not the issue. You know the mixer analog parts are OK. You should be able to see the mixer in the Windows audio panels. Right click the speaker icon and drill down to the recording panel. There should also be a little sound meter and you should be able to make it kick. Win7Sound...

Re: Windows 10 crashed and only displays a black screen
One other note. Even if you do get a transfer in stereo, make sure the two stereo channels are different. One of the failures of this setup is simply duplicating Left to both tracks by accident and not record Right at all.

Re: Windows 10 crashed and only displays a black screen
I think you got lucky that the system failed at that exact instant. Do you have to disconnect the battery or emergency start the machine very often? Post back if you have more problems. The audio connection on the side of the machine, unless it says so in the instructions is mono, not stereo and it ...

Re: Feedback & Advice welcome and appreciated
I mastered the last post for audiobook submission and it failed for an odd reason. It's too good. Screen Shot 2020-06-21 at 16.09.32.png Where did you get the silence to put between the words or sentences? In general you shouldn't use Generate > Silence. That produces the Blackness of Space silence ...

Re: Feedback & Advice welcome and appreciated
probably won’t even use the desk or have the computer in there Home performers always fail noise. It's practically a law. I know people that are trying to make echoey, kitcheny, bathroomy voice "normal," but until they do, a quiet, clear voice is good. The moving pad trick is interesting ...
