You have to be doing this wrong. Flash has internal compression management.

That quote I posted was from Flash Instructions in another program. They would be much happier with WAV or AIFF and they say there could be problems trying to use MP3 files. So "Flash" does not demand that you use MP3. Maybe only your Flash software does that.
