Re: muffled recording (excessive bass?)
All this is assuming I'm right about the faulty adapter, but if the adapter were correct, the full quality of the microphone should be available -- possibly low volume or slightly hissy-noisy, but it should sound OK. I'm also ruling out a broken sound card, which may not be a good idea. The computer...

It's 3-pin XLR on one end and USB-B on the other. I wasn't completely thrilled with this thing (I wrote the review), but in your case, it would work.

Re: muffled recording (excessive bass?)
I don't think there's anything wrong with the headset or the application. I do think there's an adapter problem. I think the adapter is applying the microphone show between the ring and tip of a "stereo" 1/8" plug. This will produce an awful sound quality if it works at all. One of th...

Re: Editing function failure
Presume its a bug that might need a fix? You shouldn't presume a bug, ever. "Bugs" are very specific events and you can assume almost all of them have been ironed out in any released software, beta version or not. One of the features of a "bug" is that many, many other people ca...

And just to be correct, it's 1.3.12 Beta to 1.3.13 Beta. Neither one is a Release Product in spite of being the only one(s) that actually work.recent transition from 1.3.12 to 1.3.13 Beta

Re: muffled recording (excessive bass?)
Not quite enough to go on. Which headset? Model numbers. What did the adapter do? Does the headset have a pink and green separate audio connectors? Are you totally sure you're recording the headset? Scratch the microphone with your finger. That should give you a very loud noise in the show. Which wa...

Re: Recording phone calls to PC - from scratch
Since nobody hit this yet... The analog telephone line has some interesting properties. The obvious one is the ability to send and receive two independent conversations simultaneously over one pair of wires. If your phone has three wires, that odd one is used for ground or phone instrument lights --...

Re: Internal Recording issue.
Most people tend to blob the recording process into one event whereas it's really two. You can go through a complete recording session and create a correct exported sound file in complete silence. Monitoring/listening is a separate event. As long as you have the Red recording meters bouncing and and...

Windows comes out of the box these days set for video and audio conferencing, pretty much the exact opposite of the settings you need for theatrical recording.

Re: Recording phone calls to PC - from scratch
Did you say you could not get the Radio Shack coupler to work with your land-line telephone? It should have. It's shortcoming is not that it doesn't work at all, it's that your voice is usually a billion times louder than the far caller, and both voices are in the same sound show, so you can't easil...
