Re: Help! Distorted Audio + Audio Compression
I am trying to input a MP3 file. You're trying to make Audacity play a sound file. Where it it? On a web site or music service? iTunes, or I guess it's iTunes Store now? Do you have it on your iCloud storage? On you local machine? Chances of these files being MP3s are pretty much zero. Audacity can...

Re: Feedback & Advice welcome and appreciated
Do you have your T-shirts and coffee mugs designed? But on a more serious note, what's the production company's name? Pick a good one. "Boy, I really liked the instruction videos ahowes produced." Flat. No pun or second meaning. Howe-To-Video ? Intentional misspelling. That might be good. ...

I downloaded CDex, but it thinks that the E: drive is empty. Any ideas? Yes. Your disk is damaged or it's not a standard CD-R. Did you make the disk in CD-RW or one of the other variations? You have the signature of one of those two variations. Some players can find it and some can't. sometime in t...

owner/Producer/writer Do you have one hat with all the labels on it, or do you change hats each time? Are they color coordinated? "I can't talk to you right now. I'm wearing the wrong hat." it's ok for it to sound a little like a lecture rather than a conversation? It's OK for it to sound...

Re: How to Properly Save Orphan Files to Prevent Crash?
block files I believe those are the little 6-second AU sound files in the _DATA folder. Someone will correct me, but each time you get a new report, it doesn't mean you have 452 orphan files. It means you have 452 more than the last time . The show is gone. It will just keep eating itself. Do you h...

Re: Audacity vs Zoom H4nPro recording issue
A note because I'm just waking up. When I plug my H1n in, there is a screen asking me if I want to use it as a microphone or mount the memory chip. Do you get such a screen? I just downloaded a trial version of Adobe Audition. Or more likely, a trial version for a subscription to an Adobe Audition F...

There are irrational answers, too. Peaks can't be quieter or the same value as RMS. Noise can't be louder than RMS. A proper reading depends on you mastering or applying some corrections to your work. Nobody can reliably read directly into ACX. You have to do something in the middle. You may hit one...

Re: Why everytime I enable a plugin and press ok It is still disabled
It's not Select > OK. It's Select > Enable > OK . There's an extra step in the middle. That burns me every time and I know it's there. I'm trying to enable tons of plugins Select the top one and Shift-Select the bottom one. They should all light up. > Enable > OK. Screen Shot 2020-06-22 at 2.57.24.p...

Re: USB Audio Interface Setup - Microphone Properties Help
I'm trying to setup my condenser microphone That, right there, rings bells. What is there to set up? Just plug it into your mixer and go. Many condenser microphones need 48v phantom power, so be sure to turn that on. On the other hand, if it's a USB microphone, then you got troubles because Audacit...

Re: When recording using Windows WASAPI, voice sloooooows down
I'm not just making that up. If you change the sample rate of an Audacity track with the drop-down to the left of the track, you can speed up or slow down the show. If you change it with the "official" sample rate window at the bottom-left of the Audacity window, the show sample rate will ...
