Re: Multi Track Editing
Open one clip and Import all the others. They should create multiple tracks one atop the other. Use the Time Shift Tool (sideways black arrows) to push the tracks earlier and later, and the SOLO and MUTE buttons to turn each track on and off. If they're all Audacity AUP Projects, I think you have to...

Re: Recording audio from sound board
It's dangerous to adapt the mixer XLR out to a Mac because unless the mixer has very good isolation between all its sound services, the adapter may create distortion or hum in the house. You also need to know that Audacity gives you very clear indications when it's recording correctly. It's not a my...

Re: Playback at double speed
can't find one to regulate playback speed. There are Effects called Change Speed, Change Tempo, etc, but that's not what you have. Sound is recorded using a specific set of technical standards like 16-bit, 44100, Stereo, WAV. That's the one that Music CDs use. If Audacity is fooled into thinking th...

Re: Noise removal help from my voice recordings
The equalizer tool display has a blue line down the middle left to right. It's a rubber band. You can click on it and push it around. Here's a really simple one from an earlier equalizer tool. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/voiceEq.jpg dB is along the left edge, Hz is along the bottom. You can also ...

Re: Can't hear sound while recording - any ideas?
I have connected the keyboard earphone output to my laptop microphone input And that worked? It usually doesn't. If the sound is OK and not crunchy or distorted, then you may be good to go. You may be only recording the Left side of the show without the Right. My keyboard plays in stereo with depth...

Re: Can't hear sound while recording - any ideas?
You can plug your headphones into your keyboard and via a splitter, also drive your computer with no problem, but you can't change anything during the performance.

Re: buttons disabled on record/play screen
Is it not compatible with my operating system at all? No, it's not. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can ...

Depending on the show, you may be there for a while.

Re: How to cut out short vocals without making the track cho
Would the theatrical timing be OK if you kept the "hole" where the exclamation was? Like drag-select the "ha" and Control-L silence it but leave the time the same. Is that better? I know now it sounds funny because the gap doesn't have any "room tone" there. The show go...

Re: Help with turntable
It's possible by handling the arm the wrong way to get it out of step with the mechanism underneath. Pay attention to the place that the arm retracts. It's always in the same place on the record, right?
What's the model number of the turntable?
