Re: Feedback & Advice welcome and appreciated

Do I detect some southern now that the voice is a little more relaxed? I still got a lot of room resonance. Is this after all the blankets, PVC Pipes, and carpeting? I would expect not to hear the room at all. Also slightly low volume. Blue waves on the raw recording should hit somewhere between 1/4...

Re: round in circles cda

Hopefully that solves the problem. Make sure the quality is OK. Those two connections are strictly not compatible with each other. Make sure the Audacity blue waves don't go all the way up and down... Screen Shot 2020-06-23 at 16.40.12.png ...or the waves don't have big flat spots. Screen Shot 2020...

Re: Feedback & Advice welcome and appreciated

This works out better if you actually include the sound file.
if you don't have the mug yet
I'm using the mug somebody gave me when I got them out of trouble. That one was a little more involved. Someone supplied them with a European video to include in a US show. We had a video converter.

Re: Recording while listening to the track

the back up track is playing as well That's "Perfect Overdubbing," where you hear a theatrically perfect mix of new and old in your headphones. That's harder than you think because you can't do that by listening to the computer. You can listen to the headphone connection inside your speci...

I kept my presentations bare-bones.
You probably don't need us any more. I'm going to go make coffee.

Re: Audacity cuts vocals

If you're overdubbing (you didn't say so) then you may have a common error where Audacity records the new track along with a copy of the old one instead of leaving it alone. Depending on the sound pathway, the first or backing track will sound like it's slowly turn to trash—although the original tra...

Re: Feedback & Advice welcome and appreciated

added carpet on top of the desk Terrific idea. I've done that. It helps suppress that "talking into a wine glass' voice. If the microphone is sitting on it, it also helps suppress floor and table rumble and vibration. I'm anxious to get to version 2, though! Post a sample when you get that far...

Re: Recording Skype conversations (one side only)

One other common mistake. When you get to the end don't "Save" anything. Audacity won't save sound files and what it does save you can't send anywhere. File > Export a WAV sound file or whatever they want.

Re: Recording Skype conversations (one side only)

Didn't they give you some idea or head start what to do? In general, you launch Audacity and put your microphone or microphone system into boxes where it indicates Audacity microphones and speakers. This computer doesn't have a microphone, but you get the idea. Screen Shot 2020-06-23 at 4.21.07.png ...

Re: How to Properly Save Orphan Files to Prevent Crash?

I added an audio track, applied a low-pass filter
Eventually, if it hasn't happened already, the show will just stop opening. The only pieces you will have left are the original sound files and clips when you started and whatever backups and exports you could make during this forum exchange.
