Re: Ram to Mp3 etc...

Audacity is a terrible converter. If it doesn't understand a format, it tries to guess at it and sometimes makes a mess of the show. Flee, flee. If you decide to try anyway, I'd use Audacity 1.3, not 1.2. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 ...

Re: How would you achieve this effect

I don't know that it's a software effect. I think he's really close to a high quality microphone with a good pop filter on. Maybe a slight low frequency equalization -- that may be what you're hearing as an "old record" effect. I was going to include singing in a quiet room, but the piece ...

You're going to need to make with the words. We can't see your computer so you need to describe exactly what you did and what the result was.

Re: Staticy Podcast

You can tell by the stunned looks that you presented a competing list of symptoms. Do you have a good bouncing green sound meter and large blue waves when you play the track? http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_playback.jpg Did you have a large red recording meter and blue waves when you were m...

Your latitude and time zone can have an impact, too. Some suppliers go to extra effort to ship international.

Re: Can I take off an effect after I saved a project?

What he said.

I still have original capture WAV files from voice performances six months ago. Producers have a nasty way of calling at 7PM, "Do you still have Julie's voice track for the Fortune Teller?"

Yes, I do.
