Re: overlap tunes

Select the track you want to move (click on the little panel below the name). Click the arrow button. Click anywhere on the blue waves and push to the right.

Re: problem with clipping

As I recall, the UCA202 has no way to control sound volume. You always run the risk of hitting the one player that's going to deliver the show too hot and cause damage. Does your cassette player have a meter on the front? Mine does. I bet your show is hot on the tape. I do know one other way to deal...

Re: Reverb for Enclosed Spaces

Please be clear we're talking about Audacity 1.3. Audacity 1.2 is no longer supported.

Re: Reverb for Enclosed Spaces

Have you tried it? I think most reverb tools give you the ability to tune the room. They may define it differently, how tall the walls are, how far away they are, how many walls , etc. etc.

GVerb gets room size setting down to 1 meter. You might be able to get a dog in there....

Re: Duplicate left channel to right

You shouldn't depend on Chains for anything. Chains is a very simple tool and only works in a very limited (but growing) list of filters and processes. The little black down arrow to the left of your track reveals menus. Split Stereo Track. [x] delete the bad track. Make Mono the one that's left. Do...

Re: Need Recording Help!!!

Quick because I need to step out the door right now. You set your computer to record Internet Audio and that's what messing up your live recording. You're recording from Mix-Out or something like that instead of Line-In or Mic-In. Set in Windows Control Panels. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Reco...

Re: Recording from PC radio

Some computers make this extraordinarily difficult to do without money-based software. It's not always a setting or clicky.

I think Total Recorder can do this with almost any PC. I have a license for my Win2K machine.

disadvantage that the potential customer can not hear how good the real versions will sound.
Unless you include a high quality sample clip for comparison and promotion.

Re: Is voice over batch recording possible with Audacity?

Probably your most serious problem is re-editing MP3. You can't. Audacity converts MP3 to a high-quality internal sound format and then back to MP3 when it's finished editing. MP3 compression sound damage (gargling, bubbling) goes way up when you do that. MP3 is a terrible production format. Even &q...
