Re: Missing data in middle of files created
You mentioned that the Audacity files are very brittle I didn't. I said Audacity Projects were very brittle. Audacity does not Save simple files. It saves Projects which can be thousands of files and folders depending on how complicated your show was. You said you did nothing with your interview fi...

Re: One of 2 mics doesnt work on my Imac but on my Macbook
The mini jack adapter I am talking about is just one of these to convert the jack to a mini jack: http://images-en.busytrade.com/18141050 ... daptor.jpg Soooo close. Yes, that's exactly what that adapter does, but that doesn't get from the three-pin connection on the bottom of the microphone. I'm s...

Re: Missing data in middle of files created
We hope you kept all the original interviews as separate files -- duplicated and locked up? We know people that cut their original capture files and save the work on top each time -- effectively killing their chances of ever recovering from disaster. This may not help your current show, but working ...

Re: One of 2 mics doesnt work on my Imac but on my Macbook
And just so I don't make this insanely complicated more than needed, I can tell from your excellent information package and the documentation package from AKG that the AKG microphone "natural" volume is -44dB and the other microphone is -66dB. That's an enormous difference in sound level. ...

Re: One of 2 mics doesnt work on my Imac but on my Macbook
I was talking this over with one of the techies here and we want to know a lot more about that adapter. How would I buy one?Yes, I forgot to say: I connect the mics with a XLR to mono jack cable with an adapter to go in to the mini jack input on the computer.

Re: Noise Removal Tests
I still don't think three seconds is enough for good analysis, particularly if you have to wait for a silent portion in the performance.Maximum file size should be 1 MB.

Re: *How to Filter a Variety of Noises...?
Your show is already echoey from the large room. Anything we do to suppress the noises is going to make that gargling/bubbling much worse. You have a data error or data interference to the show signals. It's also possible you're listening to somebody's cellphone trying to connect to a cell tower. Di...

Re: Volume problems.
There could be other problems, but let's start here. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can install both aud...

Re: One of 2 mics doesnt work on my Imac but on my Macbook
I think you have three problems, none of them to do with Audacity, but that's OK. The AKG without question has a full balanced broadcast microphone output signal(s) on its XLR connection. The restrained cost microphone without the web site may have fudged a little and only provided parts of the bala...

Point to a web site where I can read about this microphone.MAXIMAL M998
Where were we? You were going to tell me that you plugged your adapter into the Mac Line-In, the left of the two round connectors.
