Re: One of 2 mics doesnt work on my Imac but on my Macbook
but the adaptor that kashshaptu93 posted a link to is a stereo adapter - it has ring, tip, sleeve. And that one would border on serious wizardry. Assuming XLR pin2 goes to tip and XLR pin3 goes to the ring, then you would get a "stereo" signal out-of-phase -- it would sound hollow and wei...

Re: Recommend sound card for recording my mixing
Your mixer already has the A/D converter, so all you need is something that can receive the S/PDIF signal (Sony Philips Digital Interface). This is a good thread that talks about this. http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/302807/best-sound-card-for-s-pdif-or-does-it-even-matter I don't have any hands...

Re: Guitar Amp to Computer Hum
You can get small transformers to go down to lower frequencies, but they start sounding gritty down there. There are also ways to do it without a transformer, but if the device says that's what's in there, then that's it.

Re: Guitar Amp to Computer Hum
I wondered. Transformers need to be pretty big to "vanish." That Radio Shack thing has a frequency response of 300 to 5000 - slightly wider than a telephone, which is probably where they got it from. Yes I'm reading from the back of the device packaging. This is the Real Thing: http://cgi....

Re: Killing hard clipping
Clipping is one of the things you can do to kill your show. There is still a short list of things we can't fix. That's one of them. Clip Fix works by best guess approximation. It's not unusual for it to reconstruct the waveform and have the show sound worse. Fix the clipping at the capture stage. Do...

Re: Export to WAV Libsndfile error
We get at lot of attention from spammers, so it's a really bad idea to post your email address. Nobody has time to write you back, anyway. "Error while writing WAV (Microsoft) file (disk full?). Libsndfile says "" What was your file name? Did you put dates in there? Really bad idea. N...

Re: Wireless mic buzzing loudly. Any ideas?
audio-technica or something like that. I need to download the instructions. I'll need a model number. Take the battery out and look inside. You can also go a long way by telling us how much you paid for it. We got one radio microphone as "prize" for buying a much larger product -- and it'...

Re: unwanted phase shift
Correction. That's not Echo Cancellation. That's Environment Management. Make the air conditioning noise go away. Echo Cancellation is another whole problem.

Re: unwanted phase shift
The first note of the performance had almost no distortion in it. By about three seconds, the effect was full-on. That's consistent with Conferencing Echo Cancellation. It thinks your guitar is air conditioning noise and is trying to cancel it out so it doesn't interfere with your voice conference t...
