Re: No sound after export to either MP3 or WAV

Can you hear any of these clips when you download and play them? (They're really short) http://www.kozco.com/tech/piano2.wav http://www.kozco.com/tech/organfinale.wav http://www.kozco.com/tech/organfinale.mp3 Other than Audacity, what specific media player are you trying to use? Do you have stereo s...

Re: Buzzing sound during recording

Now you know the natural limitation of "hifi" sound cables. Because of the "ground," green, or safety prong on many power cables, the outer connection on your RCA cables (or any sound cable with a shield connection) is the same wire as the third prong at your washing machine, you...

Re: Buzzing sound during recording

We had one room with technical equipment in it in the old building. Whenever we got complaints of hum and buzz, we could clear it by replugging the equipment into the wall. Nobody ever found anything wrong with the socket or the plugs, it just worked -- then we moved.

Re: can't get new Tape2usb to record

What you're supposed to do is open up Windows Control Panels > Sound and find the USB device there. You can do this with Audacity closed. After you do that, make sure the volume control associated with that device is turned up. If you can't find the USB device, make sure you load any software driver...

Yes, but you can't run on batteries forever. Did any of the other tricks work?

Re: Buzzing sound during recording

And if that works, try plugging your MacBook in backwards. That is, flip the power supply plug around in the wall. Mine isn't polarized and yours probably isn't, either. It is a little unusual for hum to happen in these systems -- you really have to work at it. You said you have a "receiver&quo...

MIDI can also be used for controlling lighting and pyrotechnics.

Re: Difference between Line Out and Phones Out?

From a sound card, probably not. From a large amplifier or sound mixer, there might be. The headphone system has to go through a speaker amplifier and that can add slight distortion, but it only exhibits the distortion when it's driving headphones or small speakers. The controls for each are differe...

Re: How to

We can guess at this, but it's much better if you give us specifics. What kind of USB adapter? Model and part numbers? Which other products? Which Windows exactly do you have? In general, look at the Windows Control Panels and select the device. If you have a sound meter (some Window's do) make sure...

Re: CANT RECORD TD9 ELEC DRUMS WITH MIDI TO USB?

If you want to record the MIDI data, you need to use a "MIDI Sequencer" program. Or convert the MIDI to music with keyboard or musical instrument and record that. People lose track of what MIDI actually is because the computer does a good job of hiding it. You can "play" a MIDI ...
