Re: can audacity help us?

Total Recorder is a program that will record both sides of a Skype call on different tracks. Outgoing on one track and incoming on the other. Pamela Professional and Business will do that, too (the other two Pamela products are crippled). http://www.pamela.biz/en/download/ http://www.highcriteria.co...

Re: Input gain control...where and how?

Audacity is a complete slave to what the computer is doing. Open up the Windows Control Panels > Audio and see if you can set levels there. Some USB sound devices will not let you set sound level.

We don't know where your sound is coming from.

Re: Noise removal

Noise in phonograph records is a specialized case and software has been written to make the process easier than using the generic tools.

Re: Simulating Low Pass filter with Equalization

One extra step that the Equalizer takes is loading a curve. Equalizer launches with the Last Curve Used and you have to Load a new curve if you want a specific job. Equalizer lets you save a curve for use later.

Re: Simulating Low Pass filter with Equalization

Probably not, for several reasons.

How is the guitar connected to the computer -- and what's the computer? Like: Win7 Dell Dimension Laptop.

If you reply, reply. Don't edit your original post. It makes it impossible to follow.

Re: Odd "issue"

Windows machines can have multiple recursive sound pathways. It's confusing and it drives everybody nuts. Modern Windows machines leave it out and Macs never had it. You can make it a lot worse with some of the Audacity settings. All that and we never heard the goal. Is it to record your guitar thro...

But if you deleted or damaged the DATA folder, that's the end of the show.
