Re: Editing Sound of a Single Audio Track

Now you know why the grownups record everything on two separate tracks and mix down later. No, especially if there was an announcer in the game and you were talking over them. If you recorded the game in Stereo and you laid your voice down in mono, you might be able to use the vocal removal tools to...

Re: Pitch shift voice

That would be the Announcing Voice Module I announce every April First. The problem is a low voice isn't just a higher voice pitch shifted down. When you and the announcer say "sss" you both sound exactly the same, but when you say "aaa" there is a huge difference. Even AutoTune ...

One more. My iMic had a switch where I could configure it for Line or Microphone. Line will give you a very quiet performance.

Re: Logitech headset not recognized by Audacity

1.2 Audacity hardly ever does
I've never had troubles with Audacity 1.2 that weren't traceable back to the mono/stereo thing. The Logitech devices almost all show up as mono and if you don't catch that, Audacity will fail to figure it out. Sometimes Audacity 1.3 does that, too.

Re: Logitech headset not recognized by Audacity

Which gives you ample reason to update to Audacity 1.3. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can install both ...

Re: Headset with Google Voice

I am looking to record phone conversations (yes everyone consents to it first) both ways.
Lot of that going around. It's harder than you think.

How are you connecting the computer to the phone? Is there a real phone or are you trying to do this on a cellphone or Skype?

Re: Recording a phone call

All stereo Mix does is run the Record and Playback services together so you can record YouTube sound. Neither of those pathways is available. Skype manages the microphone/input part of the sound card to suppress your background noises like air conditioning and performs auto level control on your voi...

Re: Recording Problems using Griffin iMic and Audacity

Giffin iMic, at least the one I had, was nothing to write home about. How are you connecting the SM-58 to the iMic? The two connectors are very different. If you get the adapter wrong, the volume of the microphone will be very low or zero. Like this... http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg00758/xlr-...
