Re: Exporting Tracks to be mixed in another DAW

There was some difficulty posted in Audacity 1.3 with the system refusing to accurately place time points -- sliding some just slightly one way or the other. This may be an offshoot of that. I don't know there is a solution, although it's high on the work list to be fixed.

Re: NEED HELP ON WHY MY RECORDING STOPS AFTER 45 SECS

I went to the forum and found several suggestions- defrag, stop the wifi connection, stop the antivirus, repair the registry. I missed the part where you said you did any of those. I'm particularly interested in the defragging. Audacity (and most other production programs) will not run into a highl...

Re: Recording Problem

Recording internet audio abilities change radically with computer, manufacture, and operating system. The latest versions of Win7 leave it out.

Re: recording from zoom

On a first-pass inspection of the instruction book. I would connect the two RCA Master L and R to the L and R of the UCA 202. Plug the UCA 202 into the computer and find it in the computer preferences (after it mounts). Only then do you open Audacity and set its preferences for the same thing. That'...

Re: recording from zoom

I know it's tempting to gaze intently at the Zoom, but we're really going to need a lot more information about the computer, operating system, versions, etc. etc. Windows 7 on a Dell Dimension Laptop?

Re: Egads! Three hour recording = 20 second, 4 *gig* file? H

WAV has a limit to the size of the show it will hold. It's 4 GB. If you go over the magic limit, the integrity of the file system will go away and/or become unstable. I think we're finding out what happens when you go over. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV The WAV format is limited to files that are...

Re: Mono only recording from computer audio

Audacity 1.2.6 is no longer supported (and you posted in the Audacity 1.3 forum). When we give instructions, unless they're very general, they will be for Audacity 1.3. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. ...

Re: downloading music from iTunes

Let's do basics. A Recent Convert is relatively difficult because not only is Audacity new, but all the OS tools are new, too. Does your desktop look anything like the attached when you have Audacity open? Close all other applications with the Name > Close command, not the little red ball. Your back...

Re: Best Codec For Storing Indian Classical Music

Hence, MP3 lossy compression is necessary for knocking large audio files down to Internet-appropriate size ...for delivery. Not for production. MP3 is a delivery format not intended to go any further than listening. The original work should have been recorded in an uncompressed perfect format to ma...
