If you don't move anything, they play just exactly like a single track, right? No matter how many splits you have?

Re: Levels seem off
That's good news. Instead of checking the needle, check the little fine wire connections again behind the needle. There should be four of them in little gold clips sticking out from the rear of the cartridge. You may not have that on an inexpensive turntable, but see what's there. Can you unplug the...

Re: Inverted Green Triangle
Music will seem to vanish if you used a song in your production and then delete the song from your computer. Audacity doesn't naturally copy songs into itself for editing. It uses music files and then puts them back. If you make it so Audacity can't find that file again next time, that portion of th...

There isn't quite enough in the picture to tell us what we're looking at. Also, can you fill in the equipment and how it's connected? Oh, here it is. It's a USB Turntable. Has it ever worked? These things are really cheap and it's not unusual to have them fail straight out of the box.

Re: Listening to AUP files on a CD
AUP is a Project Manager. It's text, not music. It's job is to manage the music in the _data folder and any other music that was incorporated into the show. If you need to send the show somewhere, you're far better to Export a Sound File -- WAV or AIFF for perfect quality, MP3 for lesser quality, bu...

Re: Append record anywhere a second track
"pause playback on track one and append record anywhere on track two" is so that the work flow is not interrupted. You can't do that in Audacity, so our natural reaction is do it in non-real time editing -- which is what Audacity does. The grownups call this Post Production. Editing after...

Re: Append record anywhere a second track
Next, in the upper window I insert enough silence to account for the length of the translation plus about one second. Why do you do that step? Isn't it true that if you paste at a cursor position, the downstream audio gets out of your way? Insert/Paste? I know this wouldn't be the first time I assu...

Re: Append record anywhere a second track
Repeat steps 2 to 4 to create suitable gaps Do you know any translators that can hit an IN and OUT point? Do you know ahead of time what "appropriate" is? Could you do something like... instead of splitting at time, split up and down. Put each phrase on its own track and add each translat...

Also, if you're on a Windows machine, you should make sure the Windows conference service isn't running and "helping" you set levels.

Not to be confused with Effects > Leveller which is a hard limiter/distortion generator.
