Re: Recording Wave Out Mix and mic input at the same time
If you're in Windows, I believe you can get Total Recorder to do this, too.
This split capture thing is one popular way to create a podcast with no Skype gargling and echoes. Each person records their own microphone and one emails their track to the other.

Re: OS lion
The grownups suggest, strongly, that you only upgrade when you have to to get some feature, tool, environment, or program. Upgrading just to be the first on your block or bragging rights is not a good idea, particularly if you're doing valuable production. If it's possible, you can mount your Lion l...

Re: recording has ticking noise
Just to help out with troubleshooting, you don't have to actually make a tape or recording to hear what the sound channel is doing. Turn everything on and connect like you were doing to make a recording, but don't press play on the player. Open Audacity Preferences and select Recording > Playthrough...

Re: Problems recording with UA 1G
You might actually have an Audacity setting problem. Go into Audacity Preferences and set the sound characteristics to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. It's in two different panels. Two are in Quality and the third is in Devices, Recording. OK the panels and restart Audacity. Audacity defaults to 32-floating ...

Re: SLIDESHOW SOFTWARE TO SYNCH. WITH AUDACITY IN A MAC
As pointed out, any modern Mac can boot and run Windows given the appropriate software in the middle. I have the Parallels software that I bought with this MacBook Pro, but I never installed it because all my Windows licenses are old and I couldn't generate enough work to buy something new. You on t...

Re: Software Playthrough, how to change the delay or latency
Many people do this with an external mixer or fancy microphone both of which let you monitor the live performance (your voice) while it's still analog to get rid of the digital delays. That lets you hear yourself in real time or really, really, close to it. Any time the computer has to stop and thin...

Re: Editing cuts
People frequently make the mistake of trying to cut individual notes or sounds out of a completed performance. Most of the time you can't do that because even though the notes are OK, the expression, swing, and emphasis are going to be off. Much better to edit a completed phrase. If the performance ...

Re: Editing cuts
That's a little too fuzzy for us to understand. Try describing it with actual instruments. "I'm trying to remove the violins from a Vivaldi orchestral presentation." or "I need to remove act two from a three act opera." We need to be able to visualize what you're doing since we c...

Re: No Sound Input Detected...
I am playing sound into my PC from a standard phono mixer output (through a phono to stereo mini plug cable) into the line-in socket on my PC and the software is not detecting any input at all when I select 'start monitoring' no matter what the volume level selected on the mixer. You don't go into ...
