Re: about G729 framing details
You may be trying to achieve heroic compression and bitrate reductions using too small a sample. Modern compression algorithms work by comparing portions of the show to redundant portions so both need not be sent. There are far fewer opportunities to do that in a short clip than a much longer one. T...

Re: Error while opening sound device
You should try Audacity preferences of 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and you should do it in Audacity 1.3. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here... http://audac...

Re: Buttons not working and program crashing
Control-click on your desktop and make a new folder called Audacity1.3.13. Download the Mac installer and double click. It should open up to an Installer Drive. Open that and copy all the contents over to your new desktop folder. Drag that new folder to Applications. After it gets done, Go > Applica...

Re: can not play sound track
You're going to need to tell us all about your equipment, computer and connections and describe the show. I'm typing on a 15" MacBook Pro connected with an analog cable to a Peavey PV6 analog sound mixer. The microphone is a Shure SM58. I'm recording voice clips for later inclusion into a video...

Re: sound cuts out
The 'cutting out' symptom is of Windows Conferencing Services, but that usually happens straight-away and not wait for a long time. Did you just start using Skype or other conferencing service? Windows Enhanced Sound http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=41179&start=0 The other ...

Re: How to Change your Voice to another normal Voice?
That's a frequently requested product or tool that doesn't exist. A male voice is not just a female voice down-pitched and an announcer/presenter is not just a down-pitched regular speaker. Some parts of the speech need to be moved and some don't and it's a moving target. It's also the subject of mu...

This is a closeup of my mixer. The "Pan" control lets me push the microphone anywhere from far left in your headphones (the illustration) through center to far right. Screen shot 2011-07-17 at 10.28.44 PM.png That's the knob you would need to do this voice on one side and analysis on the o...

Re: Record from two mics into two separate files simultaneou
I can't get the Yamaha web site to wake up, but from what I've seen so far, you can't pan sources to left and right. If you plug a live microphone into one of the two connections, it automatically appears on both left and right of the stereo show. The "Comp" control on the mixer is an on-t...

Re: Problems with surround channels
I'm still marveling at the 5.1 channel WAV files. When did multi-channel WAV become widely supported? One of the reasons that Broadcast WAV was developed was to get around the stereo WAV limitation. The shortcoming was recursive. Everybody knew WAV files stopped at two so they never designed softwar...

Re: Loading Lame
It's further up the computer structure than most applications and tools. You can force the Mac to go there from the desktop.
