Re: Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode)
You might consider forcing Windows to show you the full filename. Windows likes to hide filename extensions based on their being "confusing." The full filename for MyMusic is really MyMusic.mp3 which is a dead giveaway what kind of file it is. This naming structure dates back to the Paleol...

Re: edit voice recording
All you can do it make it less awful. You may have already hit the usual tools. You can't get rid of echoes and audience noises, so they're fixed. Many times the echoes are what's making the performance seem muffled. No doubt you already found that boosting the right side of the equalizer also makes...

Re: Help cleaning up audio please!
You have to get rid of the honky microphone around 700Hz and then push the overall response flatter with more energy at 3000. I did it two steps so it's more obvious what I did. The first step reduces the overall level to trash, so I boosted it back up before I applied the second which makes the res...

Re: Help A Newbie Out With First Project
You shouldn't be. The project should have saved everything on your screen, tracks, blue waves, clips and all.

Re: Help A Newbie Out With First Project
What did you call the file/Project? You can get killed if you used punctuation marks in the filename. No dates. The slash marks mean more to Windows than they mean to you and Windows may damage your show.

Re: Ways to change voice as much as possible without distort
Voice Changing is over 80% acting. Even if we did have enough tools to push your voice around, the way you pause between your phrases and other mannerisms will kill you instantly. People can recognize you even through a terrible, bubbly phone call. "Steven? Listen, I can't understand you, we go...

Re: Help cleaning up audio please!
Try this. It's a little better -- particularly if you have some inkling what the words are ahead of time. I did Effect > Equalization, Effect > Amplify, Effect > Equalization. Two passes through the equalizer tool with an amplification correction in the middle. There's probably a way to send you the...

Re: Problems Recording w/ Numark Mixdeck
Actually, you probably have that "universal" connector that does both. In that case you need to go into Desktop > Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound and somewhere in there, you will have a selector whether you want it to be Headphones or Line-In (or some Apple-ese that means the...
