Re: Seamless loop of engine sound

Even at 22050 Hz sample rate, the available frequency range still goes over 10 kHz, which I'd expect to be sufficient.
True, but record the work in terrifically high, perfect quality so you can do production, effects, and filters on it to end up with 22050.

Re: Been using for months new error message can't open anything please help!

There is a pure evil version of this extension thing. Someone started offering picture and sound files to everyone named things like CoolMusic.mp3. The filename was really CoolMusic.mp3.exe. Windows would hide the last extension, the .exe part. This was a Windows executable file which would then tak...

Re: Been using for months new error message can't open anything please help!

You understand you have conflicting symptoms, right? That's why there's a sea of questions marks over the land. Do you know the files are all .wav and .mp3 by reputation, or can you actually see the filename with the dot and three letters? You can hide extensions on Macs, but it's not recommended. I...

Re: Acx newbie - Budget acoustic treatment?

Are there a preferred type - Quilted? Heavy. The pads are 72" by 80". They're heavy. Each of mine weighs 17 lbs. Lighter is not good. We're not after comfort or low shipping weight. We're after dead weight. The sound has to move those pads to get in. Over 7Kg each. If yours are a lot ligh...

Re: Seamless loop of engine sound

(Oneplus 7 pro using an audio recorder app set to 22050Hz stereo)
That's not good news. 22050 sound quality is roughly half-way between AM and FM radio.

"Better than AM radio" is not a good sound specification for a production recording.

Each one is 23 hours long....
I know the Party Line was that Audacity is not a good surveillance recorder. Lots of messy things can happen when you roll over the 24-hour mark.

I wonder if you can program something in the Audacity programming language.

Re: Low Volume Despite High Gain Level

I posted a question to tech support at Sweetwater Sound. They've been really good about resolving questions. Affordable microphone makers tend to not have support.

Re: Low Volume Despite High Gain Level

Unless I find something to contradict me, the Avantone Pro CK-6 is a side-address microphone. You speak into the grill near the company name, not the round end. Re: Low Volume Despite High Gain Level

All the way up is probably about right. All the way or almost all the way is usually normal. The blue waves when you record should be roughly a quarter to a half full. The top wave in your illustration. The switches on the microphone should be NOT -10dB, and bent-line straight-line should be straigh...
