Re: Audacity re-recording backing track
I got the picture. The four illustrations at the top of the instruction book can be greatly magnified in the viewer and that will show the knob labels. I was able to do this once with my small mixer and MacBook Pro, but I remember it was a struggle and I could only listen to either Left or Mono-Mix,...

Re: Audacity re-recording backing track
There should be a set of cables that goes from the FCA202 BAL/UNBAL OUT to the mixer Stereo Aux Return. If not, correct me. Back at the Mac, Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Output. Select the FireWire Device, not Built-In Speakers or anything like that. Audacity > Preferences > Recor...

Re: Web Based Audio Program Build
t's basically a slimmed down version of Audacity May be not. You know that Audacity is not a straight sound editor, right? Audacity will not Save a sound file. Audacity is an Editorial Production Environment Manager. That and it hates being run from a network. The only way you could force this to w...

Re: What does a Ring Modulator do?
The first one is a multiplier/ring modulator mix. I get two peaks, one at 260 and one at 1140. Sum and difference and neither of the original two.
The second one is an odd duck. I get peaks at 260, 440 and 1140. So one of the original couple leaked through.

Re: Stopped Recording
The only way you can record a music CD mounted in your computer is if you have "Stereo Mix" selected in the Windows Control Panels instead of a real sound device. If you like to record YouTube music or something like that, or you recently decided to try, then that's where your music went. ...

Tell us more about what you want.
I deleted your email address. It's insanely dangerous to post email addresses on the forum. You can edit your post and put it back if you want, but I don't think it's a good idea.

Re: Can't export...
Replace all those fuzzy sentences with product names. "I tried playing it in QuickTime Player, Windows Media, VLC Player, etc. Will the exported file open up in Audacity? Like export the file, close everything, open up Audacity and open the file. Did you put any punctuation marks in the filenam...

Re: Newbie Page?
Importing the tracks should stack them up one atop the other. The limit used to be 16, I think the limit is much larger now. There is a limit to the number of radically different tracks you can import. Someone will correct me, but I don't think you can mix MP3, AIFF, WAV, M4A, and ACC in the same s...

Re: Audacity re-recording backing track
What's the model number of your F-Audio device and where do you normally plug in your headphones -- back when it was all working?
There is a series of settings you need to make, but I need to dig a little more.

Re: Audacity re-recording backing track
No, I got it. I keep forgetting they actually make sound equipment that uses FireWire. I need to take time to dredge through all those part numbers. I've actually done this before, but it's not straightforward.
