The trick is to avoid "Phantom Power" adapters in the Google search. That's what larger commercial microphones use to power themselves. Those aren't five or six volts. Those take up to 48 volts. I think this company makes modules that would work, but they don't adapt to three-pin XLR Male....

That Sennheiser headset requires a computer sound card or battery adapter to work. I built that one. I don't know anybody who makes one.

The fact that you got the right channel and not the left points to minor system damage or insanity. Normal systems faced with a conflict almost always use the Left as default.

My efforts were unsuccessful. Maybe they seem unsuccessful because you can't hear what you're doing. If you're not mixing and filtering on a reasonably powerful music system, all those corrections we posted are going to be invisible to you. And yes, if you take away the forceful, pounding bass line...

I think I see what he did. You may not like this arrangement as much as you did the old one. Leave Audacity off. Make sure everything is connected normally. FireWire, etc. but don't actually do anything to the Mac yet. Mixer: Turn all the FX controls down. Turn the AUX RETURN down. DO NOT select CD/...
