Are you following somebody's process? Or will you when you get that far?
What's the microphone and are you using the computer to record?

Re: 15 minute ACX sample
the same specs as the finished product? It has to be, as they put it, "Retail Ready." There is a published process for an audition, but a question first. Where did you get the fifteen minute number from? I was using that for a while and then I went back and couldn't find the reference, in...

Re: Crackle on recording Focusrite Scarlet 4i4 USBC
I see your thread over on VirtualDJ. Did that solve the problem?
I also see the word ASIO floating through the messages. Audacity doesn't easily support ASIO because of licensing issues.

"Project Rate" to 44100 before you export. That's the little window in the lower left, not the track rate. Play the file after you export but before you send it. It's pretty unusual for systems to get stuck at 48000. That's the video sample rate. 44100 is the audio CD rate and is almost u...

Re: how to separate two voices on a recording
I now want to be able to increase the volume on my voice and lower the volume of the original singer. Keep searching. Audacity can't split a mixed performance into individual voices. In my opinion, you will be singing this again with better balance. Or better yet, put the backing track into your he...

Re: USB condenser mic noise/interference driving me nuts
Some much more expensive "pro" models of microphones don't have this problem and almost no USB sound mixers. They all have internal filtering and regulation. Some sound mixers give up the whole USB Power idea and use wall power. That can create its own problems. I have a sound mixer with a...

Re: USB condenser mic noise/interference driving me nuts
I guess some hardware might be the issue? Yes. That's USB whine. And yes, it's an interaction between the microphone and the computer. We tried many different easy ways to get rid of it in hardware and there aren't any. However, we did design a post production plugin filter specifically for this. h...

Re: Cannnot open files
Can you sense the sea of question marks over our heads? All of us including Apple? All that is so not normal. Lets back out a little. What's the show? Why are we here and what's the Mac's job? This may be a little different between our machines. Desktop > Go > Computer > Right-Click or Control+Tap M...

Re: Where to source moving blankets UK?
Moving blankets were chosen for their wide availability (in the US), effectiveness, and low cost. Their day job is to keep the credenza from smacking into the ottoman in the back of a moving van. Light duty cloth need not apply. I got mine from an actual moving company in one of the grittier, indust...
