Re: Recording with Multiple USB Mics
That's why I needed the pint -- and the break. It's precisely like walking into the funhouse while on really good painkillers and then have somebody say, "Describe exactly what's happening." "Pretty............" This is what the system level panels look like for sound. USBCodecs....

Re: I cannot record? What am i doing wrong?
You can test the system by pulling the cable out of the guitar system and touching the tip of the 1/4" plug, similar to this.. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/touch.jpg The other hand should be holding the plastic or rubber parts of the cable. That should drive Audacity nuts if it's recordin...

Re: Recording with Multiple USB Mics
I think I may be about to resolve some long simmering Audacity oddball behaviors. Either that or make them a lot worse. Intel Mac Mini, OS-X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. Audacity 1.3.13. I have two Behringer UCA-202 units connected directly on the rear apron of the Mac. This is the Mac System Preferences: M...

Re: Output at specific Decibels
It's a good as any other, and it has the advantage that once you have the meter, you can repeat the test whenever you wish. I don't expect the readings to "drift." Once you get a reading with a standard amplifier at a standard volume control setting, it should stay that way until you chang...

Re: Recording Multi-Track
That's usually because the computer isn't powerful enough to handle two audio tracks at the same time. There's also the problem that Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. So you need to tell us which version of Audacity, which kind of computer, etc. If Windows, when was the last time you ...

This is the wrong forum for this, but there is a pre-baked wiki for it.

Re: Hum
They had to include that little black wire because the process of sound management on vinyl makes hum worse. They had to reduce the value of low bass sounds in order to fit the show sound in the grooves. They do this in a known, predictable way so you can restore the original volumes and bass notes ...

Re: Output at specific Decibels
A quick note about dB. The dBSPL thing is a specific volume. It's a specific amount of air moving in an acoustical manner (wind is not sound). A certain dBSPL value measured in Vienna with a Philips meter is exactly the same loudness/movement of air in New York measured with a Radio Shack meter. The...
