Sorry. Missed one. If you're on a MacBook Pro and you don't know about the Control-Click thing, you would open it like this:
Desktop > Select the file > File > Open With > Audacity 1.3.13.
That works, too.

Re: Launching Audacity by opening a file doesn't import the
I used this music file: http://www.kozco.com/tech/piano2-CoolEdit.mp3 ...as an MP3 that I didn't make on Audacity. I downloaded it to my desktop. Right-Click or Control-Click (checked both) > Open With > Audacity 1.3.13. Opens perfectly. I would have been happier if the file in question was availabl...

Re: Finding Sections of Audio
I have a long project with repeated sections of audio. Describe the show. If you have a performance with bit for bit exact segment duplications, then it may be possible to get a software package to do what you want. If you only have, for example, a performer singing the same words every three minut...

Launch Audacity cold and generate a tone. Does that play?

Re: Any Need To Install Latest Version
If version 1.2 is working for you, then stay there. There are dangers with sticking at the frozen moment in time, but there are also dangers of blindly upgrading.

You didn't answer the question. Audacity 1.2 had a peculiar installation process.

Re: Failure to load .aup files
unrecognised file type, error line 6 ? That's very different. Open up your AUP file and read it. It's pointing to a bad file or there's something else wrong with your process. You can get problems like this is you like to put dates or punctuation in your filenames or put punctuation in your metadat...

Re: The challenge of recording from a DVD
Probably the easiest thing would be to get rid of the silence gap at the beginning with the Zoom tools. Finish recording and press Stop. Control-F should give you the Full show on the timeline with the beginning on the left and the end on the right. Click anywhere on the timeline and the SpaceBar sh...

Re: REALLY need HELP with getting the noise out!
You may have no show. Noise Removal will not get rid of traffic sounds since they change constantly over the course of the performance. Those are now performers in your show. Noise Removal and the other tools only work when the voice is very much louder than the interference. They won't do forensics...

Re: I cannot record? What am i doing wrong?
You tested the guitar amplifier. Did you do the finger touch test instead of the amplifier? If the finger gives you loud volume buzz and hum, then the guitar amplifier may have a problem.I already have tested it, i get sound but it's rubbish and has loads of background noise.
