Re: Multiple entries when saving recording
Another problem might be more basic. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can install both audacity 1.2 and Au...

Re: Multiple entries when saving recording
Sometimes you can get that if you accidentally include two labels right on top of each other. They're rough to see if you do that, and the designation process can get scrambled. Temporarily delete the bad label and see if there isn't another one behind it.

Re: Creating a cute "girl" voice for a project
Any ideas? Can I slightly alter a friend's (female) voice into a new female entity so to speak? Yes, you'd be much more likely to get a woman's already higher voice to work out. Use the "Change' tools. Effects > Change Pitch, Change Speed, etc. You might also try out the straight effects tools...

Re: Started to not play anything during rec
You posted in a portion of the forum where we can't tell either the computer you have or the version of Audacity, but, in general, you go into Audacity Preferences and select "Play tracks while recording new ones."
Restart Audacity when you make changes like that.

The more advanced the operating system, the more they hide this process.

I'm doing blitzkrieg postings until I get home and dig through the longer posts. I'll have the Snow Leopard machine back then, too.

Re: Trouble with USB Mixer and Repeating first track
That means you're recording Windows Mix-Out instead of the straight USB connection. The connections and setups needed for recording YouTube or on-line performance sound tend to be the exact opposite of the ones needed for theatrical recording. There's a wiki for this, but it's not helpful for the pr...

Re: Launching Audacity by opening a file doesn't import the
Did you actually install Audacity 1.3.13, or are you running it from the DMG file? How are you getting back and forth between the versions?

Re: Recording with Multiple USB Mics
Any chance that you could try that? Good chance, but I'm in Audacity 1.3.12 on the other machine -- OS-X 10.5.8 Leopard. The main machine is recording British Antiques Roadshow. I set up Aggregate Device anyway guessing which USB device was which. I set Audacity to record from the Aggregate Device,...
