you can get 'fake' speed change by changing the sampling rate the "wrong" way.
Black down arrow to the left of the track > Set Sample Rate.
If that works, I think you can export the track, import it and do it again.

Re: difference between 1.2 and 1.3
The short answer is 1.3 has been designed around modern operating systems and is much more likely to get you through a show without crashing and damage. I have a newer Mac that won't launch Audacity 1.2 at all. The much longer version is better tools and more of them. The Noise Reduction in Audacity...

So Audacity.app isn't an executable. It's a special folder.

Re: Turn off click track, help me!
Is it really the metronome? Is every fourth click different? I even re-installed audacity. Probably not. There are specific files and folders you need to manage to "uninstall" Audacity. If you just resintall the program, you going to get the same one you had before. http://wiki.audacitytea...

Re: Why are my bass tones getting a high distortion?
It could be the mic, I guess Who made the transformer? They do overload and the effect is far worse on bass notes. They start distorting the waveform and frequency doubling and it sounds pretty sucky. I totally do not think it's the microphone unless it's broken, which I don't believe, either. This...

Re: Audacity 1.3 beta is not displaying bluecat stereo choru
Duplicate your mono track so two of them appear on the timeline. Black Arrow Pulldown > Make Stereo Track. Black Arrow Pulldown > Split Stereo Track. If you play that, it will appear flat and "mono." Apply the Bluecat Mono effect to only one of the two tracks. Play that and it will have pr...

Re: First 2 recordings great all others suck
"I don't use a microphone," means you've been using the laptop's built-in microphone? Did you just start to record YouTube or Internet Radio Shows? How about brought up a brand-new license of Skype? The Windows setup for doing those completely messes up natural recording. We don't have a w...
Re: netbooks
It's not so much that Audacity would slow down your computer as your computer may not be fast enough to run Audacity. Audio and video programs run in real time. The computer can't stop and think about something while Audacity is running. Photoshop blur renders and Excel spreadsheet recalculations ca...
