Re: How do I make my song line up?
You're going to need a lot more words. "I recorded a clean track with my singing and I want it to line up with a second track that I recorded with the guitar and keyboard music, so to create a final mixed presentation." Stop me if I say anything wrong. There's not a lot of YouTube tutorial...

Re: File has wav extension but Audacity says otherwise
It was that posting in the Audacity 1.2 forum that confused me.
Can you post it somewhere that we can download it? The file limit on the forum is 1MB.
What happens if you right-click the file > Properties > Advanced? What does that say?

Re: Request asstiance with base adjustment
If you have Windows Vista or Win7, you should really be on Audacity 1.3. Sorry to throw mud in the game so early, but there are serious problems with Audacity 1.2. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Downl...

Re: File has wav extension but Audacity says otherwise
The instant somebody has trouble with Audacity 1.2, we shuttle you off immediately to Audacity 1.3. No question. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here.....

Re: File has wav extension but Audacity says otherwise
Do you have Windows set to show you "real" file extensions? Hidden File Extensions -- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect) -- Apply (to this folder) or Apply to All Folders -- OK Windows will aggressively hide file extens...

Re: how do i connect my mic to audacity so i can record?
Select the track you want to echo (for example) by clicking on the sound data panel on the left. Then Effect > Echo or Effect > GVerb. Echo isn't one single thing. You get to tune how large the room is, etc. You can also Drag-Select a small portion of the timeline show and add effects just to that p...

Re: Audacity 1.3.13 freezes after recording or importing.
Sudden, unexplained computer insanity can be caused by your hard drive filling up. Long recordings, particularly complex, multi-track ones take up a huge amount of drive space.

Re: Timer
I'd settle for the existing one working. For the first time ever (and illustrated in another post) I tried to make a timed hour recording starting in fifteen minutes. I was recording a "real" FM radio, so no bitstreams crashes, connection failures or IP conflicts. I never made it. The syst...

Re: to playback while recording
Audacity Preferences > Recording > Overdub. Restart Audacity if you change that setting.
If you're not in Audacity 1.3, you should be. Check the version number. I don't know where "About Audacity" is on a Windows machine.
