Re: timeline problems in 1.3.13 beta
Two problems. You should probably tell Windows to stop hiding the file extensions and that should make this a little easier. Hidden File Extensions -- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect) -- Apply (to this folder) or Apply to All F...

There is only one. The software splits the stereo show, reverses the phase of one of the two tracks and adds the two. Anything common to both tracks vanishes -- like usually the lead singer and sometimes drums and bass. You can do that manually like that step-by-step YouTube video, or you can do it ...

Re: splitting recording headache
I just want to reproduce my nephews actual utterances eliminating extraneous conversation by others on the recording. That's still fuzzy/slippery. -- I have a recording alternating between unwanted conversations and the wanted ones. See: editing, exporting and setting label points. -- I have a reco...
Re: Problem
First and probably best guess is your computer can't keep up. Audio (and video) production requires that the computer be able to play and record in real time -- sometimes at the same time. This is very unlike recalculation of an Excel spreadsheet or producing a Photoshop Gaussian Blur. In those case...

Re: burning mp3 to cd
You can have that problem if you try to burn a mono music file to a Stereo Music CD. I have a system that does that. Open the show up in Audacity. Edit > Duplicate > Left Side Drop Down Menus > Make stereo track. Then export in the regular way -- Microsoft WAV 16-bit. You need to make a special poin...

Re: IMA WAV ADCP from Casio Exilim EX-V7
Instead of struggling with Audacity 1.2, you should download and install Audacity 1.3 and its associated FFMpeg. That should open up your music files. The sign that the older Audacity doesn't "understand" an audio file is that it plays very, very fast. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longe...

Re: How can I get sound when I playback record.
You're going to need a lot more words. Describe your system in detail. Model numbers. Some sound equipment has good convenient volume controls and services, some have zero. USB microphones tend to have little or no way to make them louder. According to your title, you're trying to record YouTube or ...

Re: Plugins Not Showing Up
GSnap at least, provides a DLL in the exploded ZIP package. Macs have no idea what to do with that. Those are Windows Dynamic Link Libraries. Desktop > Finder > Preferences > Advanced > Show All File Extensions If your Mac doesn't show you the dll filename extension, that change will show you. I did...

Re: Want to record from internet radio and not from micropho
Some Windows machines have the ability to record their own playback. It doesn't happen on all Windows machines and in general, the newer, the worse. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer If you can't get it to work using Windows services and tools, you may need mo...
