Re: Recording/Playback Problem

Just a wild and crazy idea, while your mystery show is on the 1.3.12 timeline, Tracks > Stereo Track To Mono. Do you get a nice mono show, or does the performance vanish?

** Don't Save or Export after you do this. ** This is only a test.

Re: I've installed LAME library, but how do I locate it?

Tiger...Hmm. That's the lame for Audacity 1.3.13. They're different. I would probably download and install Audacity 1.3.13. We may push you over to that version of Audacity anyway. Several of the audio production tools are much better in the later version of Audacity. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no...

Re: feedback wanted on hi-fi iPod docks

Any reason you're not just using one of these?

One of the technically odd visions I had a while back was watching somebody run a full theater with his iPod Touch and one of those cables. We designed the theater to do this, but still.

Re: What "pieces" constitute a project?

I do exactly that under slightly different circumstances. If that's all the shows are, you should be able to shuttle everything off to an external drive and survive the process. We normally don't advocate this, but you are the poster child for Exporting the work as MP3. 128 quality MP3 has little or...

What's the microphone, what's the computer, and do you have any tall radio towers around your house? Most non-engineers ignore them, but it might pay for you to look for them. In the US they're red and white and have marker lights at night and a flashing red beacon on top. http://www.insidesocal.com...

People new at this are stunned at how much different their live recordings are from the commercial music produced by The Big Kids. Both shows start out life sounding clear but low level and uncontrolled like yours. Theirs goes through extensive volume compression, management, editing and mixing befo...

Re: What "pieces" constitute a project?

The simplest possible Project is: MyMusic.aup (a text file you can open in TextEdit) MyMusic_data (a folder whose minimal contents changes with the version.) If you move the aup file and the _data folder someplace else -- together -- the show should open up just fine in the same version of Audacity ...

Re: Any way to get "loop-able" ADPCM track?

One music is inside Audacity, you should be able to trim and down to the individual PCM sample. Then it's a simple process to Copy the music track and End-Paste your brains out. Export the final looped track.
