Re: Stero mix in Vista? For streaming audio recording
it was disable for some reason. It makes your computer slightly unstable and interferes with its primary job as a corporate computation and communication tool. Skype to the home office in London with the latest sales and capitol expenditure spreadsheets -- from Côte d'Azur where I've been slaving f...

Re: No playback sound while monitoring
My mouth keeps trying to form the words: "Why did you have your computer wiped?" We should start by installing Audacity 1.3. We'll take from there. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download an...

Re: Need help using 2 mics for sports commentary ASAP
Plug both headsets into the Mac and navigate to Desktop > Go > Utilities > Audio Midi Setup. Both of the microphones should appear in INPUT. Re: How to remove very short bouts of silence successfully?
You can do it manually. It's the automated tools that give problems. Use the zoom tools to make the gap fill most of your screen and then drag-select the hole and delete. The patch will be the least noticeable when the waves on both sides go the same direction. Otherwise it may pop or click at the e...

Re: Stero mix in Vista? For streaming audio recording
It's harder and harder to find "Stereo Mix" on newer computers. There isn't one on Macs. If you make it through all these help pages and still no joy, there's always Total Recorder which makes its own configurations and ignores Windows. You need to write a check. http://wiki.audacityteam.o...

Re: .AIF file import clipping
The sample shows serious and obvious clipping. It appears to be 32-floating. When I amplify to a negative number, the clipping remains. Koz

Re: How to remove very short bouts of silence successfully?
ripping albums to single audio files I'm guessing it will do single disk rip and you want an uncompressed format like WAV or AIFF. You need to know that your hard drive real estate projections will be wrong. WAV files can be 10 or more times larger than the MP3 version. the start of every ripped mp...
