Re: Razor blade off the first half-second.

1 Click in the first track at 0.5 seconds
Or whichever track is considered the "master" or "important" track. We assume the first track is the click or some other throw-away utility track.

Re: Multi-Track Amplify

With long tracks it would be slow.
I'm not planning on being here while it does it. I have to strike the studio and clean up the broken bottles and spilled chocolate brownie tins.

Re: Multi-Track Amplify

I think I prefer the idea of a "Master Fader"
I prefer the idea of making the computer do the scut work. Both tools are valuable, but the Master Fader demands recursive efforts to find the sweet spot.

"Still clipping. Let's try it a little lower."

Multi-Track Amplify

This may not exist as a product or tool, but it should. 37 track multi-track show. Many tracks one above the other. Select all the tracks. Effect > Amplify > -1. Amplify adjusts all the selected tracks so the Stereo Mixdown comes out without overloading or clipping. I picked Amplify because Normaliz...

Razor blade off the first half-second.

I completed an overdubbing session and now I need to trim The Performance so the first note of the music is the first thing in the show. It's not. I don't want the lead-in and chair shuffling. Assume I want to do this in the multi-track show, not the stereo mixdown. Selecting all the tracks doesn't ...

Re: Automatic Playback

That would be an extension of Timed Recording. Timed Recording and Batch Processing (Chaining) are very simple Audacity tools and don't offer vary many fancy options. It's also pretty dangerous as Audacity is the most unstable during changes of status (Stop > Record, Record > Stop, etc.). That tool,...

Re: Suggestions for small omnidirectional mics?

I'm a fan of the Radio Shack 3013 microphone. It's designed as a tie-tack microphone, but you can use it as a terrific group microphone by making it into a Fake Pressure Zone microphone with a piece of wood and towel. No soldering needed and it plugs straight into the Mic-In of your Windows Laptop. ...

Re: Recording a live broadcast using VirtualDJ

You can capture the show playing on the Mac with SoundFlower or WireTap or programs like that. That's the easiest way for force your Mac to capture internet shows or YouTube sound, but I'm betting that interferes with one of your production tools. Those programs run the Play and Record sections of y...

Re: Recording a live broadcast using VirtualDJ

radio server. Probably an on-line or internet streaming server. "Radio" happens from the tall metal tower on the hill. Your computer is full. Natural Macs only have two sound channels: Input and Output. If you're producing a full-on theatrical production, both of those channels are alread...
