Re: Problem recording from Skype
Skype Recorder http://voipcallrecording.com/ It's free. I don't know if it has track management. they got it to work somehow Yes, but did you get it to work? We have posters that went into painful detail of how to change your Windows Registry to force recording to work. That's nice, but Audacity nee...

Re: Audacity "not responding" with Windows 7
Describe the computer. Sound and video editing put a lot of stress on the computer and if the machine is underpowered it may make you wait while it recalculates its work. How long is the show? If you're editing a three-hour lecture, the show may have to swap back and forth to the hard drive and that...

Re: How to view file properties and export to same folder.
how can i view file properties of imported audio file. Audacity has no provision for viewing sound file properties. It's a feature request. You can go outside of Audacity. The argument is that since Audacity converts incoming music to its own internal sound format, the format of the original file i...

Re: Problem recording from Skype
Is it still there somewhere, or did I just have a setting incorrect? Neither one. You can't record Skype calls with Audacity. Skype aggressively takes over the sound channels in the computer and you get one service or the other. Not both. Pamela for Skype -- Business or Professional can be used for...

Re: Can't sem to get anything but a flat line...
You have to make Windows do it first. Audacity will record anything presented to it. Vista and Win7 made this particularly difficult. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer Koz

It's amazing. Even with some weapons-grade damage to the monolog, you can still make out some of the words.

You may not ever get there. By the time you eliminate all the intelligence in the voices, you may be down to earthquake rumble.

Re: Split stereo amplify
Stop using Normalize. Normalize operates on each side, left and right, independently and can sometimes seriously mess up the stereo balance. Use Amplify instead. Both Amplify and Normalize will kill you if you have multiple pops and clicks in the performance. The pops will take over the loudness man...

Re: audio position aka time codes
Also, Audacity doesn't directly support SMPTE TimeCode®. The best you can do is the timeline time at the top of the edit window. You can set Labels (Control-B) anywhere you wish and even type notes into them and use them to mark edit points (but not be edit points. Audacity does not support edit mar...

Re: Audacity 1.3.13 Crashes repeatedly
Windows XP but since migrating to windows 7 Explain that and use lots of words. Did you "upgrade" your computer or blow it all away to a blank hard drive and start over? Are you still using the same Audacity install files or bring new ones down from here... http://audacityteam.org/downloa...
