Re: Podcasting with 2 USB "host" mikes and Skype "guests"
It's in Go > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. Plug both of your identical headphones in to the Mac so it can find them. Follow the instructions for creating an "Aggregate Device" combining the two. From that point onward, you can select the combined device instead of each individual headset a...

Re: Recording live band practices. Need better method/equipm
Yes, Bruno spent about six months with us recording his guitar. Successfully, as I recall. The poster has given me some sound samples that he'll make public if he wants to, but one of the samples in particular -- STE-019.mp3 -- has some straight conversation/speaking with no competition. The room is...

Re: How to view file properties and export to same folder.
I think you're going to be tinkering anyway. It's insanely dangerous to over-write existing work. Any mistakes at all and the show is dead with no way to get it back. Also, firmly, You can't use MP3 for production without serious quality problems. My impression was you wanted to reduce the level to ...

Re: Radio station coming across recording...
I know the current fashion is to refer to internet theatrical transmission as "radio," but you seem to have moved next to a real, actual radio station. Walk around the neighborhood and look for tall, red and white striped towers with long wires holding them up. The wires will have little b...

Re: Problem recording from Skype
I'm still looking for the trick. We had some very persistent people looking for the method and they universally failed. It's possible having Audacity open and recording holds the system sound open and doesn't let Skype reassign and reconfigure it. There are dangers in doing that, too. I'm going to p...
