Re: Audacity 1.3.13 crashes at startup

Just describing what happened...as I just installed DD I thought that maybe it could be the cause of the problem. "I downloaded copy protected Flash Animation performances from the internet. They're fifteen hours long -- each." We can't see what you're doing. You can get yourself in deep ...

Re: Removing Voice From MP3 File?

http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Vocal_Removal Vocal Removal's full birth certificate name is "Center Pan Removal." It removes anything in the perfect dead center of a stereo performance including frequently drums and bass. It fails far more often than it succeeds. Try the tool on this br...

Re: Audacity 1.3.13 crashes at startup

sorry for the long error log. You shouldn't post tons of log information in a tiny forum unless one of the elves asks for it. Just tell us you have the logs available. You didn't reinstall Audacity. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=61457&p=160117&hilit=audacity.cfg#p16...

Re: Mic only records on one side

Yes. I did the same thing with the Shure X2U mono microphone USB adapter. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/x2uShureOverdub.jpg Clearly only one channel of sound, but if I set up Go > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup panel (check Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input) and Audacity P...

Re: Recording guitar --> pc sound quality

By actual measurement on an actual hard-body electric guitar, I found that my particular instrument (or the Flame Artist who actually owned it) was able to produce good quality, almost line level recordings with no more electronics than a Stereo Line-In connection and an interconnect cable. Somethin...

Re: Play audio coming in on Mic, while recording it?

Edit > Preferences > Recording. Do you have a "Playthrough" option? Select that and restart Audacity.

Be careful. If you have your speakers turned up, you could get howling and feedback squealing.

Re: Mic only records on one side

MacBook Pro OS-X 10.5.8 Audacity 1.3.12 I set Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup to Internal Microphone > 2-channel, 16 bit; and Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Internal Microphone > 2-channel. When I speak, my voice, even though in a mono microphone, appears on both sides of a stereo show. I believe I...

Re: How do I reduce "BLARING"?

from the VCR to the line-in on my HP pc. You need to be really careful with the words when you're in a help forum. We live in fine details. Does your laptop say specifically you have a stereo Line-In connection (sometimes blue), or are you assuming that? Do you have a pink Mic-In as well, or does y...

Re: Radio station coming across recording...

There's too many stations to track each one down. You need to tell us about the programming -- as much as you can. Koz
