What's the noise? Hiss? Traffic Rumble? TV running?
As a fuzzy rule, if you can't make out the words now, we're not going to be able to do much to help. Try the equalization tool and see if that helps.

Re: clicking sound/noise when editing
Chances are the middles of the two clips don't match. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/DCOffset.jpg This can happen when you have a slight technical unbalance in the original music files. Before you edit, apply Effect > Normalize > Remove DC... > OK to each clip. Then they should cut together ...

Re: why does Audacity start playing when I type keyboard?
I strongly recommend you abandon earlier verions of both Audacity and Lame ... Yes, we've been saying that -- strongly -- for a very long time. The problem is complex, but it revolves around the Release and Beta versions of the software. Audacity 1.3.13 is a Beta release and it will never in its cu...

Re: Synchronizing Tempos
I think I missed a step. You recorded your voice against the music, but when you played them both back, they were out of sync? Do they stay the same out of sync, or do they drift worse over time?

Re: Audacity destroyed music after edit
Export a WAV file of your show to get a single, stand-alone music file with everything on it. Audacity will not "Save" a music file. Audacity only saves Projects which can have this missing music problem. Do Not do production in MP3. MP3 creates music damage and it gets worse as you go. U...

Re: Audacity destroyed music after edit
Audacity does not always make personal copies of the music while it's editing. Sometimes, it uses external music files and then puts them back. If you move, rename, or delete any external music files, there may be a "hole" in your show. The blue waves on the timeline will not follow you be...

They originate on very high quality digital tapes in possibly eight or more sound channels, but YouTube mixes down for maximum efficiency and maximum efficiency frequently means highly compressed, tiny pictures and mono sound. The clip INFO keeps insisting it's 1080, but I've never had one play at 1...

Re: Recording guitar --> pc sound quality
I bribed the editor into doing a solo for me on his Ivanez solid-body guitar. No amp. It's him, a 1/4" to 1/8" cable and my MacBook Pro with Stereo Line-In. I trimmed the Right channel from the performance since it's not used. The show is mono. It's literally walk in from the hall (interru...

Open one of your files in QuickTime and Command-I to get the INFO panel. Do you have QuickTime 7?
