Re: How can I remove this noise?
She was wearing a wireless microphone It's a good rule of thumb when you're telling us about problems is pretend we have to buy what you're using. What we're actually doing is building your system in our head so to better diagnose the problem. So that still didn't tell us anything. Do you know what...

Re: How can I remove this noise?
I video taped a public speaker who was wearing a microport. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microport So we don't know what she was wearing and searching Microphones didn't help Oddly, the ability to rescue either sound clip is about the same. Nobody will confuse the results with a sound studio, but I...

Audacity does not Save music files. It saves Projects which will only open and play in Audacity. To get a music file you have to Export one. Export as WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM and that file should drop right into your CD burner. If you need MP3, you also have to install the lame software fr...

Re: How do I reduce "BLARING"?
We have HP machines at work and they have separate Stereo Line-In connections and they work well. Don't write any checks yet. I think we're up to finding out what you call "Blaring." Select and Export as FLAC a short segment of music featuring blaring. Upload it here on the forum with the ...

Re: help, menu bar
The toolbars move around depending on how you grab and pull icons and graphics. I make the sound meters really big because I know how to read them and the tiny default ones drive me nuts. When I click and expand them, all the other tools and graphics scurry out of the way. If you're out and out miss...

Re: Fasttrack records fine in Windows but not Ubuntu 11.1
The clue is in the printout. You have ALSA devices for 2 channel stereo, 5.1 channel surround, 7.1 channel surround, HDMI (your flat panel monitor sound), etc. etc. All that in addition to the FastTrack variations -- both directions.

Re: Audacity destroyed music after edit
When does it do this? When you Open or Import a music file, Audacity goes about copying the music into it's show. Natural Audacity, on the other hand, makes a note in the little book it keeps in its pocket where the file is in case anybody ever needs it again. It doesn't copy or move the file. If y...

I hope you don't mind responding once more to these questions-- thanks. The elves live for this kind of stuff. However, I'm also trying to get all my Saturday stuff in, so it may take a bit. Since this is a Windows problem, the Windows elves (eight times zones east of here) will be dropping in shor...
