Re: Cant record from mixer

Do you know that you can reverse the headphone connection like that? Most machines can't. Sound comes out of that connection, not in. You'll need to reach around to the actual Stereo Line-In (if you have one) or opt for a stereo USB adapter. Neither of these analog connections will work with the mix...

Re: Misc mono/stereo questions

You posted in the Audacity 1.3 forum. Are you using Audacity 1.2? Audacity 1.2 defaulted to recording in Mono. Check or change in Audacity Preferences.

If you are using Audacity 1.2, you should probably stop. It's dangerous on modern computers.

Re: recording 5min correct rest poor recording

After you get Audacity 1.3 installed, look in the Windows system for the conferencing services -- and turn them off.

Re: recording 5min correct rest poor recording

AUDACITY 1.2.6 TO RECORD.I USE WINDOWS 7 You should STOP SHOUTING and then stop using Audacity 1.2. Audacity 1.2 doesn't get along well with Windows Vista and WIN7. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Dow...

Re: exporting data as text file at 24fps

I don't believe Exporting Metada is a Chained (batch) event and the internal timer has only one event. So I'm going with no.

Re: recording specific segment

Audacity 1.3 has Transport > Timer Record. It's a bit tricky to use so try it out in a non critical way before you commit to the actual show.

Re: I can't record with certain headphones?

Skype and Steam may be the reason it stopped working in Audacity. Make sure both of those are closed and not minimized or sleeping. I found this: http://audacityteam.org/onlinehelp-1.2/toolbar_mixer.htm Restart Audacity if you change anything serious like that. You should know that if you click once...

Exactly what doesn't work? You can't talk or hear? Both?

Re: Recording overlap

Like this except you have four or more blue wiggly lines in the show instead of just two?

Have you saved the project already or have you not turned the computer off yet?

Re: Mixer bar menu

What am I doing wrong? Using Audacity 1.2. It's a sore point with the elves that the "standard version" of Audacity is also the one most likely to fail. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Downl...
