Re: Black Screen Crash when I open a browser, Windows XP SP3

The fuzzy version of this is to wake up Audacity with none of your custom plug-ins. I think you can do this manually, but if you can't find them all, there's a setup file you can change to ignore plugins. A bad VST plugin can cause that kind of damage. I can't find it. One of the other elves will be...

Re: Help please: I can no longer open WAVs in Audacity. Why?

If you really are using Audacity 1.2 (you posted in the 1.2 forum) then you should probably stop. Audacity 1.2 doesn't get along well with modern Macs. If you install Audacity 1.3 and get the FFMpeg add-on, then you might be able to open the M4A files directly. Trash this preference file: Go > Home ...

Re: Hard drive space vanishing after project?

You posted in the Audacity 1.2 section of the forum. Are you running 1.2? If you are, stop that. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here... http://audacit...

Re: computer interface

I'm surprised one of the requirements is not to hand out CDs as people are leaving. Believe it or not, that's the normal request and some people get startlingly close with a high-speed duplicator. I need to study this. Multi-track is a little rough because many "multiple channel" devices a...

Re: Need tips on audio editing spoken podcast tracks

* Format: MP3. That's strike one right there. Never do production in MP3. MP3 is not the "Universal Format" that everybody thinks it is. It's a Delivery Format and isn't intended to go any further than your ears. MP3 creates damage every time you use it and it can't be stopped. Do all the...

Re: soo confused please help

The AUP file is the Project Manager and it knows what to do with all those little snippets. If you moved the AUP file or the _data folder, then the show won't open. Let us know.

Re: exporting data as text file at 24fps

Maybe not. If you select a really tiny segment of sound, 1/24 second, Analyze > Plot Spectrum will not have enough sound to work with -- and will say so and fail. For example if you have a performance of 240 Hz (roughly B below middle C), Analysis will only have 10 cycles of waves to work with. That...

Re: HELP BEFORE I GO POSTAL PLEEEEEZ!!!

Is this a personal music performance -- you singing into a microphone? There are some very nice ways to make your existing one louder. Those are post-production tools -- used after the performance. It's not unusual for a personal performance to sound low in volume. Commercial songs go through a lot ...

So it's complex waveforms which lets out simple, quick analysis tools. This is an analysis of a single piano note.
