Re: Is there a way to filter out the sound of an inhalation?

The thing does work by sound level, so if your gasping gets too loud, you may start to sheer off parts of the speech -- not be able to separate them.

Re: No signal from USB Mixer..

The mixer should be connected to the computer and recognised by Windows before you open Audacity.
And has to produce sound before you can do any of that.

Re: a mono track into 4 speakers?

Good questions. Right now it is a mono track in a .aup file. Not exactly. It's an Audacity Project which is a collection of files managed by the aup supervisory file. You'll find if you move the aup file to somewhere else without the other files, the show will drop dead. So y'all be careful with tha...

Re: No signal from USB Mixer..

behringer usb mixer x1222 It's not a dreadful mixer and according to my communications with Behringer, I believe this is one of the mixers you can use for Hardware Overdubbing and Multi-Track. It's seriously hot stuff. If we can get it to work. I'm not a Windows elf, but there are certain things we...

Re: putting in cues

Absolutely. Audacity 1.3 has labels. You can press Command-B at a spot on the timeline and it will put a little mark in a second timeline to tell you where you are. You can put words in the label as well. If you have an Intel Mac, you should be in Audacity 1.3. Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer...

2. The way I usually do is to type in the Selection Start time in the Selection Toolbar at the bottom, then Align the track with the Selection Start. That lets you align it forward or backward...
In fact I thought about doing that and couldn't get it to work. What are the strokes exactly?

Re: Black Screen Crash when I open a browser, Windows XP SP3

Windows makes a very nice memory tester. Download the work and prepare a bootable CD (or floppy) Make sure your computer uses the CD as one of the selectable boot devices and start on the CD. Watch the memory check go by. http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp By common consent, the test has to run...

Re: first time user

Do you get the bouncing red sound meters and blue waves when you record? You may not be able to hear it, but there is a recording being made.

Re: first time user

The fact that the volume slider doesn't work isn't surprising. USB microphone shows arrive with the volume already set inside the microphone. To change it requires scaling calculations or other digital gymnastics. Not pretty. But you should be able to get the microphone to register. Try changing Aud...

Re: Is there a way to filter out the sound of an inhalation?

I applied Noise Gate which slices off any sounds quieter than a certain value. Level Reduction -20 Gate Threshold -40 Attack 250 Using the drop-down menu for the track (left), Waveform dB. That will make the gasps much more visible. Pick the highest blue wave during the gasps and that's the threshol...
