I do sizes of shows like this all the time -- but I'm on unconditionally stable, modern machines with Audacity 1.3.13. You need to have lots of memory available and a thoroughly well behaved, defragmented hard drive.
It's a given that they have to be well-behaved sound files, too.

Re: I want my rapping to start at 14:00 seconds instead of 0
That's assuming you have your beat track and rap voice separate. Then you can use the Time Shift Tool -- as above -- to slide one later than the other.
If you made one mixed track, you're dead. You can't separate the voice and music.

Audacity is not a sequencer. Do you have a question about editing sound or music?

Re: Chain noise removal not working
Just a note that there was a significant improvement in tools between Audacity 1.3.11 and the current 1.3.13. Try the upgrade.

Re: Chain noise removal not working
I'm surprised that Noise Removal is included in Chain Tools. If ever there was a tool glued to one single sound clip, it would be Noise Removal. Noise Removal works by taking a sample of Noise-Only from the show then trying to remove that exact characteristic from rest of the show. Change anything -...

Re: new code writing in audacity
Audacity uses Nyquist Programming to write filters and tools.

If you're trying to write batch and other processing tools, I believe those are in C++.

Re: "Over A Radio" effect
AM radio and Communications radio sound very different. AM started out life as theatrical medium and its only real shortcoming is the sound channel never goes out beyond 5KHz. That's the point at which the next sound channel on the broadcast band kicks in. So start with Low Pass = 5KHz. AM has fadin...

Re: Radio station coming across recording...
Radio Transmission rarely makes it through the first transformer or power distribution panel, that's why the Long Wire thing isn't likely -- your house would have to be as long as those towers. Unlikely, but not impossible. That's why knowing the terrain is a really good thing. It's possible that ju...

Re: Audacity icon remains in Dock
It's perfectly appropriate. That's why I can't think where that "?" is coming from. Or at least I know where it's coming from, I don't know why it's sticky. When I try to move an icon from the dock up slightly, a ghost image of the icon follows me up and the other icons expand into the hol...

Re: Learning language. Record voice and compare to recording
If it was helpful to you please post back. I can't imagine how analyzing the waveforms would tell you anything about verbal pronunciation, but there it is. I can well imagine how hearing your own voice backed against the instructor would be amazingly valuable. Most people are horrified at the sound ...
