Re: The importance of saving project files
Yes, but the crazy compulsive wants to make backup copies of your AIFF files. Audacity Projects are brittle and easily damaged and are intended for further production and processing. So they can go away. The perfect quality AIFF file however, should be backed up. It could be said that the Initial Ca...

Re: How do I apply effect to many tracks at one time?
I don't have the machine with me, but you could try the Chains tool. It's Audacity "Batch Processing." Filters and Tools in Chains have to be specifically written to work, so not all Effects automatically qualify. But that's a darn good start. If you don't do that, the other option is Impo...

Re: Using Samson G Track USB microphone with Audacity
Well, no, I couldn't, either. I got it to produce what sounds like a stereo track by forcing the machine to record it as a mono source, not Left-Only part of a stereo track. Don't let that dissuade you from buying the microphone. Many USB microphones work like that. That's a piffle problem and easil...

Re: Can't export, need "properly configured FFmpeg"
That link acts funny on my machine. Try this. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Exporting_your_Audacity_Project_into_iTunes_and_iPod iTunes conversion happens at the incoming step, not the export step. You change iTunes to your preferences and then import the file. Then you can drag the file back ou...

Re: Can't export, need "properly configured FFmpeg"
Just a point. You saved it as an Audacity Project which is a bunch of files and folders managed by the AUP file. AUP isn't a sound file.I finished my project and saved it as .aup.
What's the job? What are you trying to do?

Re: MEASURING A FOOTBALL FANS PITCH
how to measure the pitch of his voice using the Spectrum. There is no "The Pitch." All musical instruments including the voice have multiple pitches and overtones and that's what gives them lush, rich quality. Purer tones, like a flute have one primary tone, but even they have breath, chi...

Re: Creating layers with 2 iTunes files
And yes, I believe the Time Shift Tool is the only way to fine tune the timing of a track. I want to say there's a way to do it with the timers at the bottom of the work window, but I've never gotten it to work right.

Re: Red Light on USB Plugin -- Can't Get Sound
Two problems. The instant anybody has troubles with Audacity 1.2, we shuttle them off to Audacity 1.3. ============================= Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported, patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can be unstable on newer computers. Download and install the latest Auda...

Re: Voice reording playback too fast
2 channel interface. What and by whom? Your overdubbed voice is higher pitch or literally too fast -- you get to the end of the song before the backing track does? Can you tell if the backing track is running at the right speed? Nobody is shocked to learn that sound cards cut corners in order to be ...
